The role of the workplace trainer often involves more than just simply showing someone how to complete a task safely. More often than not the workplace trainer has to undertake training needs analyses, develop training plans and programs, both for short and longer term, liaise with managers, trainees and other trainers to organise training, manage training programs and facilities and much, much more.
The primary goal of workplace training is to enable someone to acquire the knowledge, skills, and attitude to do something that they couldn’t previously do. In many cases this also involves learning to do some aspects of their job differently. What is often overlooked is the role of training (and the trainer) in bringing about sustained workplace change.
WLI’s innovative Certificate IV, Diploma and short course programs have been developed from our extensive experience in workplace based learning. Emphasising learning, our programs prepare participants to be able to design, develop, implement and evaluate effective learning and assessment programs so that they meet the needs of both the learner and employer.
