Workplace Learning Initiatives Pty Ltd has a well established track record for conducting research on work and learning issues, including: workplace literacy and communication; the changing nature of work; generic and employability skills; partnerships for learning; employer perspectives and needs; and workplace learning and change. Several senior members of the WLI team have conducted independent post-graduate research on work-related problems. We have conducted numerous commissioned research projects for various clients including government departments, industry training boards, and the National Centre for Vocational Education Research. The company has been at the leading edge of research on these issues for over a decade. In 2007 Dr Peter Waterhouse taught a post-graduate course at the University of Toronto based on this body of research.
